First Grade:

Story 1: Greg's Treehouse

There once was a boy named Greg who built a treehouse with his friends over the summer on a nice sunny June day. The treehouse was in the backyard. Greg had an oak tree. The tree was very tall. Greg and his friends built the house out of wood, with help from his dad. They spent many weeks building the treehouse. The kids were happy when the treehouse was all done. The kids had junkfood parties, played games, and did lots of laughing and giggling in the treehouse.

Second Grade:

Story 2: Larry the Lizzard

There once was a lizzard named Larry. Lizzards usually run fast, but for some reason, Larry couldn't run as fast as the other lizzards. When the other lizzards had races in their class at Lizzard School, Larry would always be in last place and the other lizzards would laugh at him and make fun of him. One day, Larry talked with his teacher, Mr. Leo about him not running fast and about others making fun of him. Mr. Leo said, "Hey, don't feel bad, Larry! Everyone learns at their own pace. I can help you out afterschool a few days a week until you get better". Soon, after a few weeks of practice with running, Larry the Lizzard got better at running. The next day, after his last day of tutoring, during the race, Larry won in first place! Everyone was very happy for him and cheered!
