Story 1: All About the Earth

We all know about our planet Earth, the only planet containing life. Inside of Earth, there are specific layers of the Earth. You can think of layers of the Earth like onions. The layers get denser, the closer to the center of the Earth you get. The crust is the thin outer layer of the Earth. Even though it's thin, we have something called the continental crust that is made out of silicon rocks. The mantle is the next inner layer that is made out of thicker silica rocks. The tectonic plates are what happends when the crust and the mantle form together. The outer core is made out of iron and nickle. The outer core is very hot. The outer core of the Earth is very important because it creates a barrier to protect it from the sun's solar wind. The inner core is the same as the outer core because it is made out of the same things, but the inner core is extremely deep.
